Matthias Fuchs

Matthias Fuchs, Ph.D. is director of the e-Tourism Competence Centre Austria and since January 2008 he is full-professor at the European Tourism Research Institute at Mid Sweden University, Östersund. Actually, he is directing four large scale industry projects in the area of mobile tourist guides, online auctions, technology acceptance and eLearning. As being author of more than 80 academic publications Matthias Fuchs was rewarded with the Austrian State sponsored Rudolf-Sallinger Research Price and was nominated by the World Scientist Forum and the International Research Promotion Council (IRPC) for the “Eminent Scientist of the Year 2003”. Matthias Fuchs is member of the International Centre for Research and Education in Tourism (ICRET), the International Federation for IT and Travel and Tourism (IFITT), the Royal Academic Council of Eminent Scientists, the Erich Gutenberg Arbeitsgemeinschaft Köln e.V., the Association International d´Experts Scientifiques du Tourisme (AIEST), the Strategic Management Society (SMS) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Tourismuswissenschaft (DGT). back
