IFITT Greece is an organization that was founded 20 years ago and recently formed a branch in Greece for tourism development through technology.
The event aims to inform about the possibilities and prospects of the use of Internet and Information and Communication Technologies in Tourism (e-Tourism). The use of internet and social networking can provide a unique opportunity to address the crisis. It is an opportunity for organizations and representatives of the tourism industry to discuss the impact of information technologies and communication in the tourism industry and its prospects.

Στα πλαίσια των εκδηλώσεων τοπικού χαρακτήρα που προσπαθεί να πραγματοποιήσει το IFITT Ελλάδας, διοργανώνει εκδήλωση στο Ηράκλειο της Κρήτης την Παρασκευή 20 Απριλίου 2012.
Ο χώρος διεξαγωγής θα είναι το ξενοδοχείο Lato, η είσοδος είναι δωρεάν για όλους.
Το IFITT Greece είναι ένας οργανισμός ο οποίος ιδρύθηκε πριν από 20 χρόνια και απέκτησε πρόσφατα παράρτημα και στην Ελλάδα με στόχο την τουριστική ανάπτυξη μέσα από την τεχνολογία.
Στόχος της Εκδήλωσης είναι να ενημερώσει για τις δυνατότητες και τις προοπτικές της χρήσης του Διαδικτύου και των Τεχνολογιών Πληροφορίας και Επικοινωνιών στον τομέα του Τουρισμού (e-Tourism). Η αξιοποίηση του internet και της κοινωνικής δικτύωσης μπορεί να αποτελέσει μια μοναδική ευκαιρία για να αντιμετωπιστεί η κρίση. Είναι μία ευκαιρία για φορείς και εκπροσώπους του τουριστικού κλάδου να συζητήσουν για την επίδραση των τεχνολογιών της πληροφορίας και της επικοινωνίας στην τουριστική βιομηχανία και τις προοπτικές της.
