Founded in 1666, Lund University is today one of the largest, oldest and broadest universities in Scandinavia and is consistently ranked among the world's top 100 universities. Lund University has an excellent academic reputation with a large number of visiting professors and international students.
With eight faculties, the University’s activities cover education and research in engineering, science, law, social sciences, economics, medicine, humanities, theology, fine arts, music and drama. Around 47 000 students study at the University, which has some 6 300 employees. The majority of the University's activities are in Lund, but a number of education and research departments are based in Malmö. The University also has a growing campus in Helsingborg and a School of Aviation in Ljungbyhed.
The University has some 30 world-leading research environments. This, together with increased direct funding from the Swedish Government, allocated on the basis of competition and quality, makes Lund University one of Sweden’s strongest research universities.

The University is an important force in the expansive Öresund region, not least since two of Europe’s largest research facilities, Max IV and ESS, will be built in Lund within the next ten years.

Campus Helsingborg was opened in the year 2000. The campus is a part of Lund University and carries with it, the same excellence and commitment to education and research. It is situated in the city of Helsingborg, which is one of Sweden's fastest-growing communities.

Campus Helsingborg offers both study programmes and free-standing courses, which in a number of cases are unique not only in Sweden, but in the whole of Europe.
Our direct cooperation with the business sector and community is a significant aspect of Campus Helsingborg’s character. This cooperation gives us the opportunity to keep our programmes and courses up-to-date and also to benefit from the major development taking place in the Helsingborg region. There are many regional development projects underway and major visions, just as at Campus Helsingborg.
Campus Helsingborg and The Department of Service Management Campus Helsingborg is situated in the very centre of Helsingborg. The Department of Service Management hosts several bachelor degree programmes, individual courses, a PhD candidate programme, consultative training as well as a Master´s programme in Service Management. Currently the Department have approximately 900 students across our undergraduate and graduate programmes. We strongly encourage an interdisciplinary approach from a broad selection of areas. Current research in the Department is focused upon the study of services, from a broad perspective. Tourism, hospitality, quality, place marketing, consumption, health and the organisation of health services are all strong research fields. Cooperation with the service industry The Department cooperates closely with leading companies and oganisations in the service industry. These partnerships are crucial to the development of the programme and our students. Corporate Partners are awarded top priority and contribute to the programme by providing knowledge and links between practical problems and instruction.

Helsingborg has developed into a university city with facilities for accommodation, leisure, culture and possibilities for commuting within the region. On Campus you are within walking distance from the city centre with all public trains, buses and ferries. If you want to explore the cultural life of Helsingborg a visit to Dunkers kulturhus, one of Scandinavias biggest cultural initiatives, is highly recommended. The night life offers a wide range of opportunities, from English pubs to exclusive nightclubs. If you are into sports you will find Helsingborg offering anything imaginable, several golf courses, handball, wrestling, American football and soccer just to mention a few.

At Mid Sweden University (MIUN), there are about 15.250 students. MIUN is a place where people connect, become inspired and think in new ways. The European Tourism Research Institute (Etour) at Mid Sweden University develops and communicates knowledge about tourism and travel. Etour maintains active dialogue and interaction with leading actors in the travel and tourism sector on today’s critical issues. Etour activities include research, education, dialogue and collaboration. The department offers courses in human geography, tourism studies and tourism education. About 250 students study tourism here.
